Volunteers over 18 must sign a waiver, and volunteers under 18 must sign a waiver alongside their parent or guardian. Waivers will be emailed to volunteers after sign-up or available from the Trail Education Team on the event day.

Trail Care Sessions are designed to connect the trail community, share sustainable trail techniques, enhance the trail experience, and, most importantly, have fun!
Everyone is welcome to join a Trail Care Session, and you do not need previous experience working on trails. THOR Trail Care Sessions begin with a discussion of safety and an overview of the work planned for the day. THOR’s Trail Education Team will be there with you to lead the day and support you along the way.

8:00 am - Check-in at BaseCamp. Meet & Mingle
8:30 am - Learning Topics & Work Scope
8:45 am - Safety Talk
8:55 am - How to Submit Your Volunteer Hours
9:00 am - Break into Teams, Learn, & Work
11:30 am - Stop Work, Return to BaseCamp, & Socialize
12:00 pm - Lunch (Free to Registered Volunteers)
1:00 - High Fives! Ride, Run, or Hike the Trails

Comfortable clothes that are appropriate for the weather and you don’t mind getting covered in dirt
Layers appropriate for the weather (jackets, gloves, hats)
Supportive, close-toed shoes
Work gloves if you have them
Eye protection is recommended

Clothing to keep you comfortable in case the weather changes
Yard tools, if you have them: pruners, shovels, rakes, or weed trimmers. (THOR will have a variety of tools for use)

Each trail day will focus on educating volunteers on key aspects of trail maintenance and sustainability. THOR’s Trail Education Team will select one or two topics for each clinic.
