Adams Park Project
North Omaha Nebraska
Trail Plan Overview
The Gateway Green Trail, located adjacent to the bicycle playground and pump track zone, provides a beginner singletrack experience for new riders in a safe and visible location.
An intermediate cross-country loop provides added mileage and opportunity for less beginner riders (think older siblings)
The chip seal connector trail provides an all-weather connection to the chip seal trails across John A. Creighton Blvd. and East of Adam’s Park Rd.
East of Adam’s Park Rd. is a flow trail experience zone with an all-weather climbing and return trail, an all-weather “Next Steps” Blue Flow Trail that provides a highly bike-optimized flow experience with rollers and berms and a chip seal surface, and a natural surface black flow trail. This zone provides trail experiences for riders to look forward to progressing into.
Trail Site Summary
Adams Park, a 67-acre urban oasis between Bedford and Maple Streets, features gently rolling terrain and natural landscapes well-suited for the trail developments conceived as part of the Omaha Natural Surface Trails Feasibility Study. Community stakeholders further identified the trail experiences aligned with the neighborhood and local programs through the Omaha Parks Adams Park Master Plan. IMBA, a global reference in natural surface trail development, subsequently designed the project.
The initial elements feature progressive flow trails resiliently constructed for year-around use are taking shape in the Southeast corner of the park. Furthermore, a pump track, skills zone, and natural surface trail loops are slated to open in the Spring of 2025.
