2022: An Incredible Year for Trails

2022 has been an incredible year for the community, trails, and the movement toward our shared vision.

There is far too much to be thankful for to cover in just one post. Over the coming weeks, we’ll share in-depth stories of progress made in 2022 and conduct surveys to learn more about how THOR can better serve its members and trail users.

Here are just a few highlights from this year:

  • We introduced Omaha Natural Surface Trails Feasibility Study.

  • THOR Memberships were up 30% in 2022 and have increased by 50% since 2020. Over 470 members renewed or joined THOR this year!

  • The Inaugural THOR Trail Fest attracted over 300 riders and 12 partners while raising thousands of dollars for local trails.

  • Incredible volunteers donated thousands of hours to trail building, maintenance, and education.

  • DEVO continued to grow, teaching mountain bike skills to 214 Norfolk, Lincoln, and Omaha kids.

  • We added our first two staff members, fully funded by community grants, delivering more consistency and impact in our trail advocacy, education, building, and maintenance efforts.

While 2023 is just around the corner, there is still a couple of days left in 2022 to make an impact on trails by renewing your membership or making a tax-deductible donation.

Thanks again for your voice, volunteer effort, membership, and support this year. 2023 will mark THOR’s 27th year serving the trail community, and our future together has never been brighter.
